Sheila Gunn Reid (February 11, 2020) — Jonathan Yaniv had a court appearance scheduled at 2 p.m. yesterday in Surrey, British Columbia.
Yaniv was to appear over two charges of possession of a prohibited weapon stemming from an August incident on a live stream with trans YouTuber Blaire White, wherein Yaniv brandished a taser.
I flew out to cover the proceedings and I brought two security professionals with me so I didn’t become just another one of Jonathan Yaniv’s victims.
I also hired a lawyer to ensure that I had access to the courtroom since the sheriffs had prevented Keean Bexte from reporting there in the past.
But ole Johnny boy had a trick up his sleeve:

Sheila Gunn Reid (February 5, 2020) — We found out that litigious transgender activist Jonathan Yaniv — also known as Jessica Yaniv — would be in court in Surrey, British Columbia today. So with your help, we hired a lawyer and security to join me so I could ask Jonathan and his mother Miriam about the assault charges we filed against them.

Suing Yaniv is about self-respect, and it’s about deterring a serial harasser. Most of his victims didn’t know how to fight back — they were new immigrant women who didn’t have access to justice and possibly didn’t even know they could sue him.
Depending on how it goes, this lawsuit could cost us as much as $40,000. But it’s about finally standing up to a bully who is so brazen that he actually felt confident attacking me, right outside a courthouse where he was already on trial for weapons offences. Rebel News (February 5, 2020) — Rebel News sent Sheila Gunn Reid to Surrey Provincial court today to investigate a tip that suggested that Jonathan Yaniv had a private audience with court officials.
The public court registry identified Yaniv as having several “restricted access” files, and it remains unclear as to what those are.
However, our tip proved to be accurate, and as Sheila waited outside the courthouse with two security guards in tow, Yaniv arrived on the scene.
“Will you be pleading guilty to the assault on Keean Bexte,” Sheila asked shortly before Yaniv’s mother, Miriam Yaniv, charged her:

Keean Bexte (January 22, 2020) — Jonathan “Jessica” Yaniv has been arrested by the Surrey RCMP!
Keean Bexte (January 15, 2020) — Jonathan “Jessica” Yaniv could spend as much as five years in prison if he is convicted for his violent assault on me outside a provincial courthouse on Monday. (You can see that assault by scrolling down this page.)
I’m currently cooperating with an ongoing RCMP investigation into the assault, and charges are expected to be recommended by police to crown prosecutors. My footage of Yaniv’s testosterone-fuelled fit of madness went viral on social media and garnered international news coverage — probably the reason why RCMP finally seem ready to enforce the law, even if it’s too late for Yaniv’s other victims, especially the immigrant women he targeted through his infamous ball-waxing scheme.
I will cooperate with the RCMP’s criminal investigation, but the problem with that is, it’s ultimately in the hands of politically-sensitive police and prosecutors. They could agree to a plea bargain; they could even drop the charges outright, in response to political or media pressure — something Yaniv is very good at generating.
The only justice that is within my control is to start a civil lawsuit where I am the plaintiff — along with my fellow Rebel News reporter, David Menzies, who was also assaulted by Yaniv recently. In that case (see video below) Yaniv actually attacked David with a cane.
So with the support of Rebel News, David and I will be commencing a civil lawsuit against Yaniv to make sure that he is held accountable for his actions.
The main point is to show Yaniv that he’s not allowed to physically assault journalists, even if he doesn’t like their questions.
